Raul Fernandez Stays With Trackhouse Through 2028
Raul Fernandez has committed his MotoGP future to SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team, signing a new agreement that will keep him with the American squad for the 2027 and 2028 seasons.
The extension was officially confirmed on 5 August 2026, securing Fernandez as a key part of Trackhouse’s plans as MotoGP prepares to enter its new regulations era next season.
Fernandez has been part of the Trackhouse project since the team entered MotoGP ahead of the 2024 season, making his contract renewal a continuation of one of the squad’s longest-running rider relationships.
Fernandez Has Become a Key Part of Trackhouse
Since joining Trackhouse at the beginning of its MotoGP journey, Fernandez has steadily developed into one of the team’s strongest performers.
His breakthrough came during the 2025 Australian Grand Prix, where he claimed both his first MotoGP Grand Prix victory and Trackhouse’s first premier-class race win. He had already shown growing form with Sprint podiums at Mandalika and Phillip Island earlier that season.
Fernandez then carried that momentum into 2026.
By the time his contract extension was announced, he had already recorded three Grand Prix podiums and three Sprint podiums during the 2026 campaign, including Sprint victories at Mugello and Assen.
Those results have helped establish both Fernandez and Trackhouse as increasingly regular contenders near the front of the MotoGP field.
Trackhouse Rewards Fernandez's Progress
Trackhouse Entertainment Group owner Justin Marks highlighted Fernandez's development, maturity and commitment when announcing the renewed deal.
Marks explained that Fernandez had grown significantly since the beginning of the Trackhouse MotoGP programme and said the team believes both the rider and its machinery can become consistent championship contenders in the coming seasons.
That continuity could prove particularly valuable given how much MotoGP will change from 2027.
Rather than starting the new era with an entirely unfamiliar rider combination, Trackhouse will retain someone who already understands the team's working methods, personnel and Aprilia machinery.
Fernandez Will Enter MotoGP's New 850cc Era With Trackhouse
The 2027 MotoGP season marks the beginning of a major technical reset, including the introduction of 850cc engines and a new generation of race bikes.
Fernandez's extension therefore goes beyond simply keeping him for another two seasons.
Trackhouse is effectively making the Spanish rider part of its long-term development programme as the championship moves into a new rules cycle. MotoGP's official announcement specifically noted that Fernandez will remain with the team as the sport's new regulations begin.
For Fernandez, that gives him stability at an important point in his career and the opportunity to help shape Trackhouse's next-generation MotoGP package.
Trackhouse's 2027 Line-Up Takes Shape
Fernandez's renewal initially left the identity of his 2027 teammate open.
That question has since been answered.
On 24 August 2026, Trackhouse confirmed that Enea Bastianini will join the team from 2027, creating a Fernandez-Bastianini rider pairing for the next phase of its MotoGP programme.
The combination gives Trackhouse continuity through Fernandez while adding Bastianini's race-winning MotoGP experience.
It also underlines how seriously the American-owned team is approaching the 2027 regulations reset.
