Hamilton Shuts Down Ferrari Rumours
Lewis Hamilton has denied reports that he is pushing for personnel changes at Ferrari, responding publicly after speculation emerged over tension inside the team.
Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera reported that Hamilton had requested changes to key trackside personnel and suggested his relationship with team principal Fred Vasseur had become strained. Hamilton responded by saying he had “never asked for anyone on my team to be replaced.”
Hamilton's message is clear: he wants improvement, not a Ferrari staff clear-out.
Recent Frustration Fuelled Speculation
The rumours followed several difficult weekends for Ferrari.
Hamilton criticised aspects of Ferrari's race execution at Zandvoort before calling for changes in communication after his opening-lap clash with Charles Leclerc at Monza.
However, Hamilton has also stressed that he and Leclerc maintain a “good racing relationship”, saying the team discussed the Monza incident and moved forward.
Vasseur has similarly rejected suggestions of an internal Ferrari crisis, while acknowledging that discussions were needed after Monza.
Hamilton Backs His Ferrari Team
Hamilton used his response to praise the people working around him, saying Ferrari staff work hard every day and that his intention is to help those around him perform at their best.
For Winbox Racing, the distinction is important.
Hamilton has publicly demanded improvements from Ferrari, particularly around communication and race execution. But he is rejecting claims that those demands extend to removing members of the team.
Frustration? Yes. Calls for improvement? Yes.
But Hamilton says the reported Ferrari staff shake-up isn't coming from him.
