The SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team confirmed on August 26 that Ogura would miss Round 13 at MotorLand Aragón after medical checks in Europe revealed a fracture close to his left thumb that required surgery.
The injury comes at a particularly difficult moment for the Japanese rider. Ogura entered the Aragón weekend as one of the leading contenders in the 2026 MotoGP championship, but his forced absence means he will surrender valuable points in the title fight.

After returning to Europe, further medical examinations confirmed that the injury involved a fracture near the left thumb and would require an operation.
MotoGP subsequently reported that Ogura underwent surgery on Thursday, with Trackhouse Team Principal Davide Brivio explaining that the fracture involved the first metacarpal of the left thumb.
The timing could hardly be worse for the Trackhouse Aprilia rider.
