The 2026 MotoGP World Championship has turned into a three-rider battle following a dramatic weekend at MotorLand Aragón.
Jorge Martin remains the championship leader with 256 points, but his advantage has been dramatically reduced. Marc Marquez has climbed to second on 237 points, while Marco Bezzecchi sits third with 232. That leaves the leading trio separated by only 24 points.

The biggest winner of the Aragón weekend was undoubtedly Marc Marquez.
After a difficult British GP, the Ducati Lenovo Team rider responded in spectacular fashion by taking victory in both the Saturday Sprint and Sunday's Grand Prix, collecting the maximum 37 points available across the weekend.
Sunday saw Marquez beat Pedro Acosta to the Grand Prix victory, with Marco Bezzecchi completing the podium in third. The result also marked Marquez's 77th MotoGP victory.
More importantly for the championship, Marquez has transformed the points situation.
He leaves Aragón second in the standings and only 19 points behind Martin.
Suddenly, the #93 isn't simply chasing podiums.
He's chasing the championship.
For Jorge Martin, Aragón was about limiting the damage.
The Aprilia Racing rider finished P5 in both the Sprint and Sunday's Grand Prix, while his closest championship rivals consistently finished ahead of him.
Martin nevertheless leaves MotorLand where he arrived: at the top of the MotoGP World Championship.
His advantage, however, is now just 19 points over Marquez and 24 over teammate Bezzecchi.
Martin remains positive about the championship situation, pointing toward upcoming races that he believes should suit him better even as Marquez continues closing the gap.
The challenge now is clear.
Martin needs to turn his championship lead back into momentum.
Marco Bezzecchi Is Right There Too
It would be easy to frame the championship as Martin vs Marquez, but Marco Bezzecchi is making that increasingly difficult.
The Italian enjoyed a strong Aragón weekend, taking pole position and setting a new all-time lap record before finishing third in both the Sprint and Sunday's Grand Prix.
Those results moved Bezzecchi to 232 points, only five behind Marquez and 24 behind Martin.
That creates an interesting situation inside Aprilia Racing.
