Singapore Makes History With Its First F1 Sprint
The Singapore Grand Prix will host the final Formula 1 Sprint weekend of 2026, bringing an additional race to the streets of Marina Bay for the first time.
Taking place from October 9–11, the event marks Round 17 of the Formula 1 World Championship and concludes a demanding three-race sequence following Azerbaijan and Malaysia.
Unlike a traditional Grand Prix weekend, the Sprint format gives drivers only one practice session before competitive action begins.
With limited preparation time and a narrow street circuit, teams will face additional pressure to find the right setup immediately.
One practice session. Two races. Three days of action.
Singapore GP 2026 Schedule — Malaysia Time
Malaysian fans can follow the entire weekend without converting time zones, as Singapore and Malaysia both operate on UTC+8.

The Sprint Race covers 21 laps, while Sunday's main Grand Prix is scheduled for 62 laps around the 4.927km Marina Bay Street Circuit.
The Sprint awards championship points to the top eight finishers, with eight points for the winner.
That means extra points are available before Sunday's Grand Prix even begins.
Championship Battle Adds Pressure to Sprint Weekend
The final Sprint arrives at a critical moment in the 2026 Drivers' Championship.
Kimi Antonelli leads Mercedes team-mate George Russell by 84 points following Russell's retirement from the rain-affected race at Sepang.
With additional Sprint points available, Antonelli has another opportunity to strengthen his championship advantage.
Russell, meanwhile, faces a challenging weekend following his Mercedes power-unit failure in Malaysia, with grid penalties potentially complicating his recovery.
Max Verstappen also arrives in Singapore with renewed confidence after securing his first victory of the 2026 season at Sepang.
The Red Bull driver is preparing for his 250th Formula 1 Grand Prix and will be targeting another strong result at a circuit where he has yet to win.
Marina Bay Presents a Unique Sprint Challenge
Singapore's 19-corner street circuit is one of Formula 1's most physically demanding venues.
High humidity, limited overtaking opportunities and unforgiving barriers make qualifying especially important.
Teams will also have to manage the three softest Pirelli compounds — C3, C4 and C5 — with only 12 sets of dry-weather tyres available per driver during the Sprint weekend.
Weather could become another factor, with showers possible across the weekend.
For Winbox Racing, the Singapore Grand Prix offers Southeast Asian motorsport fans another major event immediately after Formula 1's return to Sepang.
With Sprint points, championship pressure and unpredictable street-circuit racing, the final Sprint of 2026 could have important consequences for the title fight.
Final Sprint of the season. First Sprint in Singapore.
The battle begins Friday night at Marina Bay.
