Leclerc Dominates Friday Practice in Mexico

Charles Leclerc topped both practice sessions at the 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix, giving Ferrari a strong start at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

The Monegasque set a 1:18.128 in FP1 before improving to 1:17.827 in FP2, finishing ahead of Lando Norris and George Russell.

Meanwhile, Ferrari teammate Lewis Hamilton suffered a technical failure during FP2, forcing him to stop early and lose valuable track time.

Verstappen and Lawson Clash During FP2

Max Verstappen and Racing Bulls driver Liam Lawson collided during the second practice session, bringing out a red flag.

Following an investigation, both drivers received one-place grid penalties for Sunday's race.

Verstappen finished fifth in FP2, while Lawson placed ninth.

Antonelli Closes In on Historic F1 Title

Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli enters the Mexican Grand Prix with a 123-point championship lead over teammate George Russell.

The 20-year-old needs only a ninth-place finish to secure his first Formula 1 World Championship and become the youngest champion in F1 history.

Antonelli demonstrated competitive pace on Friday, finishing second in FP1 and fourth in FP2.
